![]() either way, i would ask for an exchange as this drive or contents is potentially bad. it also sounds like the person who duplicated the drives, and you can tell it was done manually, just disconnected without safely ejecting from the pc and corrupted a directory file and when you remounted it, it rewrote the file correctly or remapped a bad sector ( your mac cannot write to this disc without a third party utility). alternatively you can try rebooting and plugging something else in the port as sometimes it thinks a drive is still mounted even when it is not and will reference that if even if you reconnect it. if you are having these issues though, the usb interface of the hard drive enclosure is might be defective and you should return it. ![]() i have had this method work half the time on unsupported computers. You can use pacifist or terminal xar -x -f to extract the entire contents to another location and then you may be able to install it that way.
